And the Bride Wore White Chiffon…
The bride wore “a dainty costume of white chiffon with trimmings of white satin and appliqué lace.”1 There were over 100 guests to welcome the newly married couple, Joseph Edward Burbidge and Fannie Parry, at a reception in the home of the bride’s father, David R. Parry. Earlier in the day, they had been wed by Bishop J. R. Winder at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. The only photo of their wedding day is the one displayed here of Fannie, probably wearing her white chiffon. The photo sat for years in a small gold frame on my mother’s piano. Sadly, no other photographs of their nuptials have come into my hands, so this description of their wedding day, found in the Deseret Evening News on 29 June 1901, must stand for their wedding album and video shoot.
