Burbidge & Stoney Marriage
Our 4Family Burbidge line begins with the marriage of Joseph David Burbidge & Moiselle Stoney in Salt Lake City, Utah on a Thursday morning, September 1, 1927.
Joe was born in Salt Lake City on December 2, 1902 to Joseph Edward and Fanny (Parry) Burbidge. His father was the Chief of Police of Salt Lake City. Moiselle Stoney was the daughter of Charles T. and Lulu (Gass) Stoney; she was born on August 10, 1908 in Washington County, Utah. Her father was a lecturer and educator. Her mother, Lulu, was the daughter of a rancher from Circleville, Utah.
According to family tradition, Joe and Moiselle were working at Great Salt Lake when they met. Joe was a photographer and Moiselle was a ticket taker. Moiselle was also very active in the world of dance in Salt Lake City and performed in a variety of venues around the city.
The coupled settled into their new life in a home built on the eastern edge of Salt Lake City. They soon welcomed a son and a daughter into their family.
