David Robert Parry
I’ve been researching my Burbidge line and have come to my Great Great Grandfather David Robert Parry. I don’t have much personal knowledge of this particular family so I was in genealogy heaven when I found this article at Utah Digital Newspapers.
This obituary provides evidence of his birth place, immigration date, as well as marriage information and the names of his children. It also identifies his relationship to Police Chief Joseph E. Burbidge, implying the marriage of Fanny L. Parry to Joseph E. Burbidge.1
It provides us with a variety of facts about his life. More records will have to be examined and analyzed before the details of his life can be stated without reservation. More of those records will probably be uncovered using historical newspapers.
Utah Digital Newspapers is an important resource for anyone researching the Burbidge or Jackson family. It provides access to many Utah newspapers, and the search engine is far superior to many newspaper databases that charge a fee. Utah Digital Newspapers is a free service provided through the University of Utah and the Utah State Archives at digitalnewspapers.org.
